Our Life Skills Centre-Based Programs offer NDIS participants a supportive and engaging environment designed to foster personal growth, social interaction, and skill development. Located at 197 Queen St, St Marys NSW 2760, these programs are ideal for participants looking to build independence, form social connections, and immerse themselves in a range of enriching activities, both within the centre and out in the community.

Our programs feature a diverse array of recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities tailored to meet individual needs and goals. Participants can choose from activities such as arts and crafts, gardening, educational classes, and community outings, all aimed at promoting personal development and community integration in a fun and supportive setting.

Who is the Life Skills Centre For?

The Life Skills Centre is specifically designed for NDIS participants aged 18 and over, with a focus on those involved in the justice system. Our programs cater to individuals seeking to enhance their independence, social skills, and overall well-being in a supportive environment.

We welcome participants with a variety of backgrounds and needs, including those facing challenges related to sensory processing disorders, autism, anxiety, or other developmental difficulties. By fostering a safe and engaging atmosphere, we empower participants to build meaningful connections, develop essential life skills, and achieve their personal goals.

Each session is limited to 8 participants, ensuring personalised attention and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can thrive.

The Life Skills Centre features an art studio with easels and stools neatly arranged in a cozy room. Shelves at the back brim with art supplies like paints and brushes, against crisp white walls and a gray ceiling, creating an inspiring space for creativity.

Room Themes and Aims

The Life Skills Centre features dedicated spaces designed to enhance participants’ experiences through various activities. As well as themed events such as Halloween parties and footy pizza nights! There’s always something exciting planned. We are not like other providers, our participants have a range of options to suit their interests and our programs are always changing based on their choices.

Theatre Room

Movie room designed for participants to chill and hang around while watching a film. A good way for our participants to wind down after a jammed packed day in centre based activities or outdoor group activities.

Education Room

This room is dedicated to enhancing life skills, such as crating a resume, job hunting, developing a healthy and active lifestyle, basic first aid skills and evacuation proceedures etc . The skills are essential for them to build and maintain their personal wellbeing and safety as well as nurture long term friendships, build social skills, gain employment, regain their independence and sense of responsibility and rediscover their own personal goals.

Sensory Room

This space aims to stimulate or calm the senses through various sensory activities. It includes a variety of textures, lights and sounds providing a safe environment for individuals to explore and engage their senses. Sensory rooms are commonly used for people with sensory processing disorders, autism, anxiety, or other developmental challenges. They can help improve focus, reduce stress, and promote relaxation, making them a valuable resource at our centre.

Arts and Crafts Room

Our arts and crafts room is a dedicated space designed for creative activities and artistic expression. The purpose of the arts room is to provide a safe and inspiring environment where Participants can explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, collaborate with others, and showcase their work.

Gardening Space

Gardening is a source that fosters responsibility in several ways. It assists with providing, Routine Maintenance, Long-term Commitment, Problem-Solving Skills and Goal Setting. The Life Skills Centre Garden will be the participants responsibility to maintain. These elements combine to make gardening a powerful tool for teaching participants responsibility in a hands-on, engaging way.
